ULTIMATE FIGHTER 7 LIVE FINALE: June 21st Spencer Fisher v Jeremy Stephens

PICK: 1/10 on Stephens at 2.71

Potential fight of the night at 20-4 Spencer Fisher takes on 13-2 Jeremy Stephens in the Lightweight Division. Fisher is a powerful Striker who has 8 fights in the UFC with wins over Welterweight Thiago Alves and Sam Stout though he has lost 2 of his last 3 to Hermes Franca and Franky Edgar. Training with Team Militich he has good wrestling and good submissions. This will be Stephens 4th fight in the UFC - he lost his Octagon debut to Din Thomas via armbar at UFC 71 but has since won 3 in a row ( two in the UFC). Stephens brings a strong striking game and wrestling with good submission defence shown in his victory over BJJ black belt Diego Saraiva. There are rumours that Fisher hurt himself recently when he fell of his push bike. At the weigh ins it looked like he had some scapes on his arm. I think the wrestling of Stephens could be the difference here. If he stands with Fisher it could be a lottery. I feel if he takes it to the ground his submission defence will be enough to get a decision win

ULTIMATE FIGHTER 7 LIVE FINALE: June 21st TIM CREDEUR v CALE YARBROUGH

PICK: 2/10 on Credeur at 1.286

Two of this season's Ultimate Fighter square off as Cale Yarbrough makes his pro debut against well rounded Tim Credeur. I see the talented Credeur getting an early takedown and submitting the inexperienced Cale inside the first round.

UFC 86 July 5th. Patrick Cote v Ricardo Almeida

PICK: 2/10 on Almeida at 2.10

9-2-0 Jiu-Jitsu expert Ricardo Almeida continues his comeback against 12-4-0 Patrick Cote. Almeida took a near 4 year break to concentrate on teaching before defeating Rob Yundt at UFC 81 via choke. His gameplan will be to take Cote down and use his superior grappling skills. Cote is coming off 4 straight UFC wins, over Scott Smith, Jason Day, Kendall Grove and Andrew McFedries and has strong striking skills. Almeida will have cleared any ring rust from his break in his last fight and I look for him to take Cote down and finish him in the first round via submission

Kazushi Sakuraba v Melvin Manhoef    +2.4

DREAM 4: June 15th: Kazushi Sakuraba v Melvin Manhoef

Pick: 2/10 on Manhoef at 2.20 at Betcris

MMA Legend ( 24-10-1) Sakuraba takes on explosive striker Melvin Manhoef ( 21-4-1). Sakuraba is a submission expert and has wins over 4 gracies - Royce, Renzo, Royler and the late Ryan. He has also beaten former UFC WW champ Carlos Newton in a grappling masterpiece, Former UFC LHC Victor Belfort, Current UFC LHC Rampage Jackson, Ken Shamrock and Former UFC HWC Kevin Randleman. However he is 39 and has taken serious damage over the years in battles with Wanderlei Silva, Mirko Cro-Cop and Ricardo Arona amongst other. Manhoef is a aggressive striker who will want this standing up. Saku has one of the greatest single leg takedowns in MMA history but he has lost a lot of his speed. Both his knees are shot. Many believe that Saku should have retired by now and while I think he still has a place in the sport it is not against someone like Manhoef who I think will pound him out.

Taiei Kin v Zelg Galesic    +2.45

DREAM 4 June 15th: Taiei Kin v Zelg Galesic

Pick: 5/10 on Galesic 1.49

This rematch pits 3-2-0 Kin against dangerous striker Zelg Galesic ( 8-3-0). Galesic won the first fight last October by TKO in 36 seconds due to a cut. Both are coming off wins at Dream 2. Kin over Minowa and Galesic over Sultanakhmedov. I see nothing different in this fight. Galesic wins again

Brandon Vera v Fabricio Werdum    -2

UFC85: Brandon Vera v Fabricio Werdum

Pick: 2/10 on Vera at 1.588

8-1-0 Brandon vera takes on 10-3-1 Fabricio Werdum. Werdum is a world class BJJ Black Belt but I think that Vera wrestling will enable him to keep it standing and use his superior standup skills to score the KO

WEC 34 June 1st: Chuck Grigsby v Mark Munoz

Pick: 2/10 on Munoz 1.57

Undefeated 3-0-0 former Division 1 wrestling champ Mark Munoz takes on 13-2-0 Chuck Grigsby on Sunday's WEC undercard. Grigsby is on a 8 fight winning streak and this is his biggest fight so far.Munoz will have one game plan. Go for the takedown and ground and pound until he gets the TKO

Elite XC 31st May TWO FIGHT PARLAY - Kimbo Slice v James thompson and Gina Carano v Kaitlin Young

PICK: 2/10 on Kimbo and Gina Parlay/Accumulator 1.539 at 5Dimes

FightNightWinners goes with it first parlay for this upcoming Elite XC event on CBS this Saturday. The first of the fights pits American Gladiator star Gina Carano ( 5-0-0) against 4-1-1 Kaitlin Young. Both these women are very good strikers but I think that Gina will have an edge in power and her ground game is improving from training at Extreme Couture. The second pick is Kimbo ( 2-0-0) against former Pride Vet James Thompson ( 14-8-0). So far in his brief MMA career Kimbo has shown some good boxing skills with decent head movement. He has been working on his ground game with Bas Rutten. Thompson has lost 6 of his last 8 fights. He has a lot of heart and will have an advantage on the ground but I don't see him taking Kimbo down. Kimbo by First Rd KO.

Christian Wellisch v Shane Carwin    +1.06

UFC 84: Christian Wellisch v Shane Carwin

Pick: 2/10 on carwin at 1.53

8-0-0 UFC newcomer Shane Calwin takes on 8-3-0 Wellisch. Wellisch is 2-1 in the UFC with a loss to Kondo and wins over Perosh and at UFC 76 over Scott Junk by heel hook. I think Carwin could be about to have the UFC promotion train behind him. He is a huge man with a strong wrestling background and I think he will just run through Christian Wellisch.

BJ Penn v Sean Sherk    +2.1

UFC 84 Lightweight Title: BJ Penn v Sean Sherk

Pick: 5/10 on BJ Penn at 1.42

UFC champ BJ Penn ( 12-4-1) battles former champ Sean Sherk ( 32-2-1) in Saturday's main event. BJ took the vacant title after Sherk was stripped for failing a drugs test when he defeated Joe Stevenson via RNC in January. Since them a war of words between the two has developed giving this title fight an extra edge. Sherk is a ground and pounder. He takes guys down and either grinds out a decision or gets a TKO or Submission. He has never been submitted and only stopped once by GSP. BJ Penn is with out a doubt one of the greatest Jui-Jitsu guys ever in MMA. He has amazing flexibilty in his legs making it so difficult to pass his guard. He has great boxing but has been let down my his cardio and training in the past. I think he has put that behind him and will be looking to back up what he has said about sherk. From the start Sherk will push for the takedown and Penn will use his great sprawl to keep it standing. When it does hit the ground I think Penn's BJJ skills will shine and he will lock in the fight ending submission.

Sengoku II Sunday 18th May: Roger Gracie v Yuki Kondo

Pick: 6/10 On Gracie at -1.32

World class BJJ Grappler Roger Gracie enters his second MMA fight against 48-21-6 Yuki Kondo this Sunday in Japan. Gracie made his debut in 2006 defeating Pride and UFC vet Ron Waterman via Armbar. While Gracie MMA experiance is very limited his ground game is just incredible. Not many fighters will want to play the ground game with him. Kondo is UFC and Pride vet who has faced the likes of Tito Ortiz, Dan Henderson, Sammy Schilt, Frank Shamrock and Wanderlei Silva. Kondo has strong stand up and a strong ground game however he has had a long career nad had many battles which have taken there toll. He faced and derailed a BJJ wizard before in Saulo Riberio in quite destructive fashion. However Gracie will have a significant height and weight advantage and I see Gracie taking the smaller Kondo down and submitting him likely via choke.
